The True Story

The True Story of Abraham Nhial - one of the Lost Boys of South Sudan

This is the story of Abraham Nhial, who had to leave his home in southern Sudan after the civil war broke out in 1983. He became a part of the Lost Boys, a group of 35,000 boys who walked over a thousand miles in search of freedom. He shares the story of his life and how he found faith and the strength to forgive in the midst of tragedy.

Can you imagine being nine years old and seeing your entire village destroyed because they refused to embrace radical Islam? That’s what happened to the Lost Boys.

HOW CAN I HELP THE PEOPLE OF SOUTH SUDAN?

Pray

Pray intensely for your persecuted Christian brothers and sisters in South Sudan. Prayer is so critical. It is the mainstay of what keeps Bishop Abraham doing what he is called to do.  Will you join with us in prayer?

Donate

Bishop Abraham receives no income and depends on God daily to help him and his people. Bishop Abraham is one of the few Lost Boys who has returned to South Sudan to help his people.  He said, “If others are willing to go back and help my people, how can I not go back?”  He is selfless, and instead of staying in the U.S. and being paid by a large church, he is trying to help his people with not only food, medicine, and shelter but also to help them know Jesus Christ.
